Josh Walsh teaching jazz piano online in a video studio

What to Expect at the Workshops

Friday's at 1:00 ET - Learn a new concept

Josh teaches a live, interactive workshop. Each week we learn a new jazz technique. You watch, play along, and ask questions in real time.

Every session is recorded so you can revisit it anytime.

Tuesday's at 1:00 ET - Get feedback on your playing

Office hours. Bring what you practiced. Josh listens, gives feedback, answers questions about the topic you learned on Friday.

This is where the real breakthrough happens. Showing up to play live creates accountability to practice, plus you get personalized feedback on your playing to guide you on your journey

100+ Hours of Workshops, Always Available

Can't make every session?  Don't worry, every workshop is recorded so you can watch them later.

As a member, you have full access to our workshop archive, even for workshops before you joined.  That's over 100 hours of live jazz teaching.

Bonus - All Courses Included

We use the course materials as our workbooks for the live workshops, so as a member, you also get access to all of our courses.

This is for you, if...

  • You've bought courses before and finished 3 lessons before drifting off
  • You watch YouTube videos and download worksheets INSTEAD of actually practicing
  • You practice consistently but don't know if you're doing it right
  • You know you should practice more, but can't find the motivation
  • You can play exercises but freeze when you open the Real Book
  • You want someone who can hear your playing and tell you exactly what to fix

But, this may not be for you if you are brand new to the piano, or you can't regularly make the live workshops.  In that case, buy the self-paced courses instead.

What Our Members Are Saying...

I wanted to learn Dream a Little Dream of Me, a tune that's not even in the Jazz-Library curriculum.

But after working through the program, I knew exactly how to approach it. I knew how to break down the changes, how to voice the chords, how to work through the melody.

Six weeks later I can comp through the whole thing, swing it, play the melody, add fills, and I'm even starting to solo over the changes, all without the lead sheet. Jazz-Library didn't teach me that tune. It taught me how to learn any tune I want.

After 3 months of working through the workshops and training lessons, a great amount of hand independence became noticeable. Now I feel more confident to let my left hand play on auto-pilot while I explore with my right hand.

In the past, I would work through a song, measure by measure, until I had it memorized. Now I focus on structure and fundamental skills. My practice has become more focused.

Mark G

I had a strong knowledge of music theory, but a repertoire of zero. The live workshops fixed that.

Mark A

Josh's Friday workshops are helping me in my real gigs. I was able to confidently improvise and solo during a set, just by using the scales and concepts we practiced that day. His explanations make theory click and show up in my playing immediately.

Barb C

Before, I'd been seduced down YouTube rabbit holes, and to be fair, learnt lots of jazz theory as a result. What I really need is knowing less and internalizing more so I could actually perform what I know.

Greg P

I have learned and executed far more with you teaching than any other self-learning or online instruction... Despite being able to play tunes from scores like the Beegie Adair version of My Romance, I have much to learn about Real book comping. But I am on my way, thanks to you.

Wayne L

Even though I already improvise on the piano, it was valuable to go back and work step by step. I tend to practice many bits of different skills at once, which sometimes makes my learning feel scattered. This course gave me a clear direction, allowing me to focus on one goal at a time. It was fun, it motivated me, and the challenge provided me with valuable perspective and new ideas... It will push you further without being too much of a struggle. Now my next challenge is to comp with my left hand with my right hand soloing like Wynton Kelly!

Natalie B

I never thought when I became a member of the Jazz-Library that not only would I learn and understand how to play wonderful jazz but that I would become comfortable playing my piano exercises in front of the other Zoom members…who applaud and cheer me on…mistakes and all!

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from other courses?

Most jazz courses give you more information. More videos, more theory, more content. Jazz-Library gives you a system. The RPM method tells you exactly what to practice, in what order, and for how long. Combined with the twice-weekly live masterclasses, it's the difference between studying jazz and actually playing it. Students who've tried other courses and then joined consistently say it's a completely different experience.

How much time do I need to practice?

About 30 minutes a day, five days a week. That's it. The RPM method is designed around focused, efficient practice, not marathon sessions. If you can carve out half an hour, you can make real progress.

Am I at the right level?

If you can read music, navigate the keyboard, and play basic major and minor chords and scales, you're ready. You don't need to know any jazz theory coming in, that's what the program teaches. If you're not sure, shoot me an email and I'll tell you honestly.

What if I can't make the live workshops?

Every workshop is recorded and added to the archive immediately after. You can watch on your own schedule, at your own pace. That said, the students who show up live tend to make the fastest progress, the feedback and accountability make a real difference.

What if I change my mind?

Full refund within 30 days, no questions asked. Try the workshops, work through the courses, use the RPM system. If it's not for you, just email us and we'll take care of it.

Does this include one-on-one lessons?

The membership includes the group masterclasses, not private lessons. Private lessons are available separately, but that tier is currently full. You can join the waitlist if you're interested.

What is your refund policy?

30-day money-back guarantee, unconditional. No hoops, no conditions. If you're not happy within the first 30 days, email us for a full refund.

Not sure yet?

That's fine. Shoot me an email and tell me where you're at with your playing. I'm happy to help you figure out if this is the right fit.
